Construction continues daily at the building site. Over half of the sanctuary is under cover and work will continue on days that the wind isn't too strong. Pray that we stay on target and are in the new building in August.

April 4, 2011 Groundbreaking Service
What an exciting day April 3, 2011 was for our church. The church family worshipped together in a single combined service at the Oasis Convention Center. Following the service we gathered on the property and celebrated the latest milestone in our relocation process, the ground breaking for our new church facility. Members of the Building Committee, Staff, Charter Members, as well as the Architect and the General Contractor all dug the first shovels of dirt on the land commemorating the beginning of the construction phase of our new building. To God be the glory for the progress to this point! Please continue to give and pray as we move forward into the construction phase.

August 31,2010 Yes He Can Building Kick Off
This is an exciting time in the life of our church. We are experiencing unprecedented growth and for that we are grateful to God. Yet with the current growth, come some new challenges: As ones so blessed, how can we continue to be a blessing to the community around us with the limitations of our present location? So, as a church, we are following the Lord's leading as we proceed with relocation.
In 2005, after thorough evaluations of our current property it became a priority to begin a search for property for relocation of Broadway Baptist Church. In July 2005, a Land Acquisition committee was formed and many properties were evaluated. Several steps of communication and interaction were taken leading up to the proposal of a land purchase.
In May 2008, the committee informed the congregation that a plot of land was available that would be suitable for the needs of our church. Our church family came together for a series of prayer meetings to seek God in making the right decision. In June 2008, we purchased 23 acres of land on the corner of Barnes and Kerr facing I-44. The cost of the land was $1,325,000. Many in our church sacrificially gave and the land was paid off in April 2009.
Currently, we are pleased to join with Butler, Rosenbury & Partners, Inc. in designing a church facility to meet our needs in growth and ministry. On July 25, 2010 the Facility Planning Committee shared the building plans with the congregation during a churchwide banquet at the University Plaza. Broadway members were asked to prayerfully make a commitment to give over and above their regular church giving toward the Building Fund. Following 30 days of prayer at the church each evening, a special offering was taken on Sunday, August 29 during a combined 10 am service at Evangel University Chapel. The total given on that Sunday was $430,721. Praise the Lord!
